Yo dl,
The partner with NAK is Anglo American (AAUK), one of the largest diversified miners out there. Anglo seems to have positioned themselves in a way to go full-in should the Pebble Project become a mining reality.
The KRY situation may be similar, when it comes to a speculative takeover, since there was speculation a while back about some "mystery investor" backing KRY and someone over on the KRY board showed something about matching debt and credit in the books. I forget which company was speculated as the "mystery investor." KRY management being so secretive makes it difficult and the volatile nature of Chavez does not help. I feel KRY is very, very, very speculative that could pay off big.
The NAK/AAUK union is known as the Pebble Partnership. Being in the USA (Alaska), there is much less volitile politics going on. Although there definitely will be some environmental activist groups keeping a close watch. Management is not secretive, and NAK/AAUK has pr's on a regular basis to keep shareholders up to date. I feel NAK/AAUK is a reasonable speculative play that could pay off much bigger.
