Good Saturday to all,

I would just like to weigh in on the current debate surrounding this Hubs need for "Hub Leaders", we have an awful lot of new enthusiastic posters freely sharing information about NOT and the Ring of Fire and by an large most are new posters arriving well after the time of Noront cancelling the Agoracom contract, as such, to help with the understanding of the necessity for such Hub Leaders a little history is in order put this current debate in perspective.

The premise for this site is to make money, Agoracom that is, by default of participation on hubs specific to your investment you may also have the opportunity to have the information gleaned from said Hub help you Make Money.

This Hub was the cohesive reason by and large for mounting one great opposition front to the takeover proposed by Rosseau et all. Naturally , Post NOT takeover the NOT BOD of the time decided to terminate sponsorship of the Hub

All water under the bridge

Agoroacom, has continued to allow the Hub to continue on the basis that the Hub would be essentially self regulated by Hub Leaders which had reached a certain level of recognition by vote of the masses of registered readers of the hub.

It became a responsibility upon individuals which had reached Agoracom's pre determined minimum level of vote/rating score, for this Hub it is a lofty one currently set at 3.7

Agoracoms 6 rules are the tools by which all registered Agoracom participants can flag a post as being in contravention of one or more of the 6 rules of accepted posting behavior, this is where the Hub Leaders come in, it is incumbent upon the Hub Leaders take up the chore, and it is a chore, of moderating the flagged post, the resultant outcome is one of two possibilities, 1- confirmation that indeed the post does contravene one or more of the 6 rules or, 2- confirmation that it does not contravene the terms of the 6 rules.

under confirmation 1, the poster will get a warning from AG and a violation registered to his or her account.

under confirmation 2, the violation is ignored.

Now, suffice it to say that regardless of the above the rated Hub Leaders can remove posts if deemed to be blatant, and i do mean blatant violations so Ag rules, this is a requirement necessary to prevent the intrusive, destructive types of posts, say for example extreme language, rude personal attacks etc. I'am sure everyone knows the types of posts and posting behaviors i refer to.

Don't think for a minute that all this means that Agoracoms not still watching the violation reports, not watching the Hub Leaders administer to the forum, not still helping out from time to time when things tend to get even beyond the capability of the Hub Leaders to moderate.

We've witnessed such goings on quite recently, they allow some latitude yet still will weigh in when they deem necessary.

Remember, this is probalbly the most active forum on Agoracom, a non sponsored one at that. There are days when there are but 1 or 2 pages of posts, conversly there have been times when there's been literally hundreds of posts in a day, so the chore is there, respect the folks doing the chore, they do the chore for want of the continuation of this Hub.

How does one get to 3.7? By making contributions which are deemed of value to the individual reader of which there are literally thousands of .

With out Hub Leader moderation this Hub would not be a nice place to visit, let alone interact with.

Cheers.

Notster
