If I had to work on a new web page concept I would have a static frame for all message

as when a new message arrive is seen right away by user without doing any refresh.

also, in that frame you could control user of you choice which you could have list of

ignore user.

if you look at google finance, everything is refreshing every 30sec inside that frame.

it is just a suggestion
