Here's a rough draft off the top of my head...anybody got any great ideas? I've never written to the gov't before......but it's time we started. Let's foment a rebellion against corruption!

Dear Prime Minister Harper:

I am writing to express my concern as it relates to rampant illegal practices by the Canadian banking industry and the effect it has on our stock market, and the overall perception it creates for us globally.

This issue greatly concerns me, and many other like-minded investors who have lately become aware of the practice of naked short-selling on the Toronto Exchanges, especially when it is conducted by the same financiers hired to promote the interests of a said company.

Canada is about to emerge as one of the world’s premiere exploration and mining locales, and our transition onto the world stage at this point is history should not be marred by crushing the entrepreneurial spirit of those individuals undertaking the financial risk to discover these new deposits, or the citizens who invest in these same ventures. It has come to light through a recent interview that the actions taken by our own banks against our own stock market has led American investing minds to believe our system is corrupt, and reminiscent of their own stock market in the 1900’s.

I want the Canadian people to have a fair chance at prospering, and do not want to see similar embarrassments in our nation such as the spectre of Enron presents. What can be done to halt the toothlessness of our regulators as it relates to the stock market, and the governance thereof?

Signed,

Quack
