That is correct, but it was 2010, and Canada's Fed. Conservative PM Harper, was in charge, then;...(during his 9.5 year tenure as PM), ....fighting  to correct the damage of the world Financial Crisis.

In 2021, BHP exited (sold) its' world Oil&Gas holdings, (including those in SK for apprx. $4.5B,(us)), having bought Nutrien, (/the former Agrium and Potash corp.), ..all located in SK.

THAT, was significant,...as was at the same time, that BHP announced the move of its World MINING HQ to TORONTO. 

Toronto is also the HQ of Ontario Hydro,  owned and operated by Premier  Fords' current very clear Majority ON provincial government, and currently testing underground, SMNR  ( small, modular nuclear reactor) for underground use in ON's ( Canada's too)  vast Mining industry, in eg The existing Sudbury 12-13000' depth of the massive Sudbury (ON) mining region.

Also :- The SMNR conects to the existing Ontario grid. Also, only Ontario solely controls the ROAD Trasportarion and Mineral regulatory and contruction development, in ONTARIO.....Not the feds.

BNP long ago began research into EV battery development,even before Glencore's "Onaping Depth Project" , using  EV's.

Getting close to Premier Fords obvious, Re-election  announcement (s ) in Q1/22. It has everything to do with Wyloo vs BHP %Control of Noront final outcome,... Mar31/22 (latest resolution date.).
