The recent propaganda by our (not so) great NOT.V chief/BOD baffles me. Long story short - they (BOD) desperately want to exit and now want to "convince" retail (or blackmail) of the same.
The wording of this "News release" is really beyond me but clearly telling the story.
He/they is/are pressuring shareholders and making assumptions re Wyloo future actions to make tendering look like the only option left. WT actual F? I mean .. we have been waiting for 15+ years and also the BOD has been waiting for almost 10years - only to sell out now at an ridiculous low $0.75 offer. Get out of here. WTF is really going on here. Are they scared to not being able to exit this company at all?
Compelling premium - yeah right. Driving down the price almost back to zero over the years to now think it is an "Compelling premium". Ridiculous.
Yes it's the only offer on the table right now - but Coutts is not even mentioning other options. What happens if BHP doesn't get 51% of share? How about not bad-mouthing Wyloo as a potential exit partner, but requesting an answer from them instead of "haven't heard from .. in over a week".
This is really a good example how to push your agenda and propaganda - not how to get the best deal done.
One thing is certain - the board is not neutral and does NOT have the best for shareholders in mind APPARENTLY. These News releases would sound completely different - weighing in all options, use other wording, etc.
They are not even trying to sound neutral - the BOD wants this lowball deal to be happening. They want their exit. They are sitting (literally not doing much) for the last 8-10+ years and they want to take their money and probably some fat background options and GTFO.
I am also certain that BHP is currently sitting on the bid to try and get as many shares as possible in the public market.
They try to do what has been done so often in the ressource/exploration sector - rob retail shareholders from a giant asset.
