So when this is all done, BHP or Wyloo will eventually need to sit down with the Province and the Feds to talk about getting the road built. I’m wondering how that’s going to go...
Province/Feds: So Mr Henry/Mr Forrest, how can we help you?
Mike/Twiggy: We’d like you to help with building this road to the Ring of Fire so we can access all the nickel, gold, copper, chromite, etc.
Prov/Feds: Oh, sure, that sounds reasonable. Now let’s see, you want us to build a ~$2 billion road so you can extract $100+ billion worth of minerals right? And how much have do you invested in this?
Mike/Twiggy: Um, well pennies compared to what we’re asking from you and your taxpayers.
OR
Prov/Feds: I see, well a road to the Ring won't be cheap. Is it really worth it? There's no question it will help the FN's, but you didn’t seem to think it was worth much when you were bidding for NOT. Why should we spend $2 billion on a road for you to access something you're only will to spend a few hundred million on?
Mike/Twiggy: Um, ya, well we were trying to steal NOT (and rip off the shareholders in the process).
Time for someone (it doesn't have to be BHP or Wyloo) to demonstrate the true value of the Ring, like with a honest multi-dollar bid, for example.
