This country has the capabiities of being self-sufficent in it's own energy sector without needing to import an outside oil supply (Saudi). Why is this NOT being done? Over 40 years of taxes from Alberta resources has provided $600,000,000,000 to Ottawa. This is a fact. Where are the taxes being collected from "Green Energy"?? It isn't.  You want to have a good seamless transfer to "zero carbon" energy you will need robust strong energy sector. This is being destroyed by the liberals plain and simple!! There is a reason why Western Canada will never vote for liberals. Westerners are tired of being taken advantaged of, and seeing the resource secter being destroyed. The Canadian resource sector is the most enviromentally responsible than any other country in the world. Look at Norway, they have bulit their country around their resources. We can be as successful as Norway but Ottawa will not do it.  This is why I am very pessimistic about the "Ring Development". (Oh by the way, Biden has destroyed the USA energy sector and NOW he is asking for OPEC to increase oil prodduction?? to get more oil and lower the price of fuel.... it's insanity)
