Question...Is Stelco (US Steel) next to be gifted funding from the Canadian government?

Does this mean we will have 2, if not 3, steel makers with EAFs with CCUS technology, capable of producing stainless steel.

One has to wonder? Why did Noront push for a standalone FPF to be built when retrofits to existing smelting and steel making facilities is all that was needed? I am no stainless steel expert, but will these upgrades to CCUS filtration and EAF retrofitting give our steel industry the capacity for the stainless steel production North America seeks? If, of course, it is done in conjunction with the Ring of Fire!?! The view from where I sit says to me that we, North America, are weening ourselves away from international reliance. Especially, from China.
