........ YES
By knowing just how much the Ring of Fire is worth Matawa should be collectively coming together, even if it is with Mushkegowuk, to look at partial ownership of Noront. This may be the only way that this invaluable resource stays Canadian, and allows our First Nations to finally receive the sort of financial reconciliation they are looking for. To the west Indigenous Nations are looking at owning the Trans Mountain pipeline, but I fear that such ownership will only allow these nations to prosper for so long...That is... Until fossil fuels disappear completely; 20-30 years. If Matawa is smart they will see that the Ring of Fire offers much more, and although they may not profit now that the future commodities it will bring will keep Canada, and their respective First Nations, prosperous for many decades to come.
Think about it.

Canada’s federal government bought Trans Mountain from Kinder Morgan Inc. for $4.5 billion (US$3.7 billion) in 2018 after the company threatened to scrap the line’s expansion amid fierce environmental opposition. Alberta’s oilsands industry badly needs more conduits to export its crude, and many hope that indigenous participation would help quell objections to the project.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government has said it will sell its ownership once the expansion is completed and de-risked, and is open to Indigenous participation.
The government is currently engaged in consultations with First Nation communities.
Hopefully our government is consulting with Matawa and Mushkegowuk in regards to the Ring of Fire.
