Ontario Making Long-Term Investment in Winter Roads Network
January 14, 2021
Energy, Northern Development and Mines
The Ontario government is providing $6 million to the Town of Moosonee and 31 First Nation communities to build 3,170 kilometres of winter roads for the 2020-21 season. The funding will also be used to support special projects, including bridge improvements, maintenance of crossings and other repairs.
The winter road network provides seasonal connections to all-season roads in remote and Far North communities.
