1wThe #XPS mineral processing team hit a significant milestone in the Noront Eagle’s Nest project, successfully producing a bulk concentrate amenable to copper-nickel separation. In locked cycle testing, a copper concentrate was produced grading 29% Cu, with an associated nickel concentrate grading 11.5% Ni and 4.5% MgO. The photo shows copper being floated away from nickel in copper-nickel separation. Eagle’s Nest is a 100%-owned, high-grade, nickel, copper and platinum group element (PGE) deposit. It is the largest high-grade nickel discovery in Canada since Voisey’s Bay and the most advanced project in the Ring of Fire.
Great work by the XPS team. Having the ability to produce separate, high quality Ni and Cu concentrates provides Noront with many options for off-take.
