The only road option that has any remote chance of beginning anytime soon, and actually making it to the Ring of Fire, is the E/W corridor. The road, the broadband, and YES....Even the hydro is ready to make its way up the E/W corridor. The EA for this route must be done by now, and unlike the N/S route it serves a dual purpose for several First Nation communities, not just one.....Plus "The Ring of Fire". I have always wondered why Marten Falls has stayed silent while the other Matawa communities to the North and West presented Matawa's case to Ontario's Standing Committee...Simply because they know their road will come later. The E/W corridor will come first; IMO....And with it the hydro and broadband.

Quote from Watay Power CEO Margaret Kenequanash; 22/11/2016:
“There’s always an option to fan out from Pickle Lake toward the Ring of Fire. Our business case does not necessarily include the Ring of fire, but there is that option. If the communities decided to be part of that then they would be able to.”

Esker Site. We take special care landing on the ice airstrip and transferring the 4,000 litres of fuel it carries into drums. When the all-season road arrives we’ll have alternatives to diesel.
