PEP is a conference and tradeshow created to explore ways to grow the Northern resource development and infrastructure sectors through innovative supply chain management. This includes a discussion of the advantages of partnerships; learning from those who have successfully designed and executed local procurement frameworks; and how we can best prepare our youth and the workforce for the jobs of tomorrow.

Mark Baker
VP Projects, Noront Resources Ltd.
Mark Baker has over 35 years of experience running projects and programs, mostly in the mining sector. For the last 10 years he has been with Noront, leading projects and technology reviews associated with Ontario’s Ring of Fire. This work has included significant engagement with local remote First Nation communities – the closest demographic to the RoF and future employees, partners and suppliers. Mark sits on the Board of Directors of the charity DAREarts which sends professional artists into the remote communities to mentor and inspire youth to be confident leaders and prepare them for their future roles in this region.
Mark also sits on the Energy, Innovation and Clean Technologies Committee of the Ontario Mining Association and contributes to the Global Mining Guidelines Group (GMG) in the areas of Battery Electric Vehicles and Electric Mines. Mark has 2 degrees in Mining Engineering from Queen’s University.
