Message: East-West Ring of Fire Road Coalition on their way to Ottawa to advance their case for Environmental Assessment designation

This potentially not good news for the ROF.  If this EA request is approved, road advancement in the ROF will be further delayed as this request is to do an EA for the East/West Road and compare it with the already commenced North/South EA.  Therefore a decision to move to actual road construction could not be committed to until the comparison is completed.  The map shows a much more indirect route than that designed for the North/South.

This may be a politically strategic move by the Coalition to put their needed communities roadwork tied to the ROF as a bargaining chip in the hopes that govs will add this route to the infrastructure transportation plan at minimum.

How this is handled will have a major effect on ROF transportation progress.
