Message: My thoughts for Richard Nemis...

I first met Richard Nemis shortly after they drilled that amazing hole #5. I had talked to Elaine and scheduled an appointment to see him in Toronto. I flew into Toronto with Pam to talk to Richard regarding what was going on with Noront Resources...

The first impression I got of Richard is that he was a genuinely caring person. We had hoped to spend a half hour with him asking questions about the find at the Ring of Fire... We talked to him for over an hour... Pam had a few extra questions that Richard was only too happy to answer. He also gave us a "cautionary" statement which I remember quite clearly... "When you invest in anything, remember that 'Pigs get Slaughtered'". I won't explain the context of that conversation as I don't want to get even 1 word of it wrong in honor or Richard. It turned out to be very sound advice indeed, some which I had wished that I had taken more seriously at the time. Not to worry, Noront may be sold to a Major Mining Company and still bring my investment to fruition!!

The second point that I wish to bring up is in regards to Richard's concern for others. I was at that Golf Tournament that Richard "crashed" LOL... I really don't think he had imagined the amount of attention he would get by showing up after Dinner had been served. But the thing I remember most is that Richard saw Pam and I at the function and actually excused himself to come ove to talk to us. I wasn't going to go over and intrude with other's conversation but he actually took the time to come by and ask how things were with us. That was a First Class move on his part. I would think that someone from Manitoba who had made probably a "minor investment" (major as far as we were concerned) in his company may have garnered a nod or a smile as he was answering questions from the gallery but he made his way over and spoke with us for a few minutes.

Richard was one of those special people who I have had the pleasure of meeting in my lifetime. A little ole farmboy who grew up in nowhere, Manitoba just wants to say that I appreciated meeting and knowing Richard for the short time that we talked. It's people like him that make a difference to "nobodies" like me. May you Rest in Peace in God's arms, Richard. You have run your race well, in "my humble opinion"...
