I wonder if our stock price will go up a bit next week? It would sure be nice to see a small uptick on Monday to start something bigger. More and more small pieces are falling into place. In my ever so humble opinion, we still need the announcement of the Agreement signed by the FN's and then the road announcement to see if anyone in the Majors will put in a bid for Noront. It has been a very long wait and trying at times but will it happen soon? I think that depends on Premier Ford and how long it will take him to clean up the mess from the Liberal Government before he can spend some money from the public coffers. I will give him some time to figure out what has to be done before he needs to start making good on his words of "starting the Ring of Fire"(jumping on a bulldozer himself, I liked that but of course, it was misconstrued completely by the Liberals trying to demean him by taking that comment and twisting it all out of context to upset the FN's that they had spoken to for the past what, 11 years?) and making things better for Northern Ontario.
Did the Liberals set aside $1 Billion for the Ring of Fire road? I seriously doubt it because if they had, I think that it should be ready to spend on the road. If the FN's want all of their demands met, then they will need to understand sooner than later that they need to sign an agreement to get the ball rolling.
And as far as the FN's that live far away and claim the land as their Traditional Lands, give me a break. If you want it to be your 'Traditional Lands', I suggest that you move to one of the other communities that live right next to where they plan to build the road and get some benefits from jobs etc instead of crying about the lack of benefits to someone who lives over 150 miles as the crow flies over the muskeg where the last time you hunted, my ancestors were still living in the Ukraine... Just sayin'. Let's get this train on the tracks already.
There is my comment for the month.
