Mr. Grech,
In your recent editorial,
"AMO offers opportunity for city officials to meet with new PC cabinet ministers",
you wrote the following statement in regard to a discussion between Timmins Mayor Steve Black and Minister Greg Rickford :
"In his meeting with Rickford, Black said they discussed the Ring of Fire and Development about “getting the infrastructure in place to move that project ahead as well as how important energy rates are for that project if it’s going to move forward with its processing facility.”
Could you do your audience a favour and please elaborate on what Minister Rickford's response was to this discussion. I am sure details were not given by Mayor Black about their talk, but surely he must have mentioned to you something about Minister Rickford's views, or future plans, to see the Ring of Fire project move forward. A statement such as this requires a degree closure for the reader, who expects you to elaborate on such an important topic. You have instead left your audience angry at you for not giving Minister Rickford's side of the discussion, which we all anticipate was given to you by Mayor Black....Provided you spoke with him directly.
Kindly elaborate if you are able.
Thank You.
