Outokump and Baosteel were a team in the past, and formed a joint venture (SKS) in China.
But, due to cost pressures in China.. Outokumpu sold their stake of the venture.

Board of Directors of SKS have made a decision to stop the operations of SKS due to ongoing losses and extreme pressure in commodity stainless steel products in China.

I keep thinking about Outokumpu in Calvert Alabama sitting right beside Arcelormittal.
And then we have Baosteel as a shareholder of Noront.
And this nuclear project in Alabama (located 300miles from Outokumpu in Calvert )...has a plan in the works to be finished after being halted in 1988..
https://www.powermag.com/plan-in-works-to-finish-bellefonte-nuclear-plant-in-alabama/
"TVA began building the plant in 1974. Construction was halted in 1988 amid a downturn in the U.S. nuclear industry, including a decision that the plant was not needed due to declining power demand.

so, what's all this extra power demand suddenly needed for? A final decision must be made by November to meet a two-year deadline set when TVA sold the site at auction in 2016.

What a team Outokumpu and Baosteel could make to start a JV in North America. And no need to worry about overseas cheap competition by dumping since the tariffs announced have taken care of that.
And Noront's superstore of goods and their patient shareholder, Baosteel that bought in at 80 cents..hmmm.
