No offense, but I found that talk about red tape absolutely useless, and really did not shed any light on the problem. This guy from the Fraser Institute said nothing, and appears to be sitting on the fence. All he said is that a balance has to be struck between protecting the environment and investing in exploration. Something we keep hearing time and time again. The Fraser Institute should stop studying companies where mining permits take months, and instead try to figure out Ontario's biggest mystery. Why the Eagle's Nest mine's environmental assessment and permitting has taken years to study, and still has yet to be approved. Now, that's something I would like to know.

In June 2015, Noront received it’s Approved Terms of Reference for the Environmental Assessment of Eagle’s Nest from the Provincial Ministry of Environment and Climate Change. Over the next several months, the Company will be completing work on a series of amendments to the EA in order to gain project approval.
Development of the Eagle’s Nest Mine will also require a variety of federal and provincial permits, licenses and authorizations which will be acquired upon completion of the federal and provincial environmental assessments. Development, operation and ultimately closure of Eagle’s Nest will be subject to numerous other legal requirements provided for in various provincial and federal acts and regulations.
