Once again....I think it is awfully presumptuous of the Grand Chief to assume what the intentions of the next government are, and that the only reason his people matter is simply because of the resources on their lands. I personally find his comment insulting as a Canadian. That everytime we are asked not to stereotype others that comments like this are deemed acceptable. These sort of comments only perpetuate the notion that neither the government, nor the First Nations, should trust one another. So much for change....I guess we should just leave things the way they were and continue to live in the past; feeling I get.
But nothing is free, and no one gets a free ride; in my books. Change only comes if those who really want it are willing to make sacrifices, and accept that change is a way of life. As they say, " You can't have your cake and eat it too". That is....Unless your choosing to eat alone. If Chief Fiddler wants change to happen for his people then he must make the realization that the real world is all about "Give and Take".
