Revenue-sharing agreements were all the rage last week on the campaign trail.

All of a sudden, provincial party leaders are falling over themselves to talk about resource revenue sharing.

Doug FordOntario Tory leader Doug Ford started it off last Wednesday, when he said northern municipalities should also have a share. As Ford pushes to get the Ring of Fire moving, he wants First nation members and municipal councils to share in the proceeds.

Not to be outdone, Premier Kathleen Wynne announced an agreement with Grand Council Treaty 3. It includes sharing 45 per cent of stumpage fees, along with 40 per cent of mining tax and royalties from active mines.

"We recognize that we need to continue to work with First Nations to come up with agreements that are fair, and that recognize the need for their to be a division of Andrea Horwaththose resources," she said Thursday.

After listening to the Tories and Liberals, New Democrat Andrea Horwath talked her party's proposal.

"We've already made the agreement we would be -- not even sharing -- we're going to be giving the mining revenues to First Nation communities, and we'll be sitting down with them to see how that gets aportioned," she said Thursday.

Kathleen WynneIt all represents quite a shift in current policy. Election day is set for June 7.
