Ford may be very pro-ROF, but I have yet to hear him utter the words "First Nation".  Instead, he refers to the whole north as being one big community of people, with no respectful distinction being given to the First Nations whose lands the Ring of Fire riches lie below.  Now, personally I agree with Mr. Ford, whose words do not favour anyone in particular because he speaks about everyone.  True....there should be no place in this country for segregation, or special treatment due to ethinicity, religion, gender....... This country we live in is still called Canada....Therefore we should all be considered "Canadians"; duely noted before.

  However, since our forefathers...and foremothers ...signed past agreements recognising the indigenous people as a separate nation within a nation we must continue to honour  that, since it was part of our written agreement to them.  If this was not the case then I would have to ask the question why we still address them as "First Nations".  The Liberals know this very well, and this is why they respectfully address the First Nations as a separate people, with agreements that outline and honour this mutual understanding. When I see Mr. Ford failing to acknowledge the First Nations I see a man who has already lost their vote,  because he knows the First Nations have an unwritten agreement with the Liberals.  Again, if this was not the case then you would have a PC party whose platform position on the Ring of Fire would properly address First Nation issues....which it does not.  Instead, Mr.Ford's words speak only of the riches lying in the ground ......Waiting to be "Doug Up".

Ontario may soon become the new "Ford Nation", but if you ask me the Ring of Fire will always be considered as a "Liberal Wynne".
