Trudeau to visit Sault to support steel industry

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be visiting Sault Ste. Marie next week.

While details of the visit have not yet been released, Sault MP Terry Sheehan confirmed that the Trudeau will be in town to show his support for the steel industry.

“We are not taking our foot off the gas,” Sheehan said.

Last week U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he would be putting a 25 per cent tariff on steel and a 10 per cent tariff on aluminum products entering the United States.

While there has been no indication that Canada will be exempt from the proposed legislation, new information suggests an updated announcement will be made from the White House later today.
