The Pinay target (named after the Ojicree word for ‘partridge’, from the shape of the anomaly) is similarly situated in the footwall to the Big Mac intrusion, one of the largest ferrogabbro bodies in the ROF. A recently acquired high-resolution airborne magnetic survey over the target shows it to be up to 800m thick by 4.5km long (figure 2) with a tabular main body and two to three sinuous limbs which could represent feeder dykes to the main body. Internal magnetic layering at Pinay is similar to the BTIC and several discrete anomalies along the peripheral may represent related satellite intrusions. Initial work on the Pinay target will attempt to confirm the ultramafic origin of the magnetic anomaly, which will be followed up with more detailed targeting.
