Spot,Christine Elliott(PC party,Dutchman) says she will honour the 1Billion,excerpt from Timmins daily press.........
Elliott also spoke about the concern expressed by Sault Ste. Marie MPP Ross Romano about delays by the Wynne Liberals in advancing the work of the Ring of Fire mining development. Romano accused the Liberals of not working hard enough to move that project to reality.
“I would agree,” said Elliott. “This is a huge resource. It has huge potential for Northern Ontario, for all of Ontario, to create jobs, to create wealth. And the fact that the Wynne government hasn’t moved on it is a tragedy.
“We really need to get moving. We need to get things sorted out. We need to build the transportation links and we need to get things started.”
Elliott added that if she is successful in her bid to become premier, she would honour the commitment of $1 billion made by Premier Kathleen Wynne last year for transportation infrastructure for road access into the Ring of Fire area in the James Bay Lowlands.
“We need the infrastructure. Yes, absolutely. This is something we’ve got the commitment for but we haven’t seen much action on it. We need the commitment and the action.”
