It would also appear that judging by the global illustration of Glencore's nickel operations, that you provided in your post, that their nickel reserves are measured in the thousands (kt), and not the millions (Mt). If this is correct then I wonder how prepared they are to capitalize on both the stainless steel and EV markets. If I was one of the top CEOs at Glencore I would be really concerned at shoring up these values to ensure my company's longevity. Especially, with fact that we are entering into the "Green Age", where nickel, chromite and other key metals will play a valuable part in the EV market, implementation of corrosive resistant infrastructure (pipelines, bridges, vehicles...) and the revitalisation of both the Ontario and Canadian steel industry, plus the soon to be Section 232 based economy of the US; Trump will make it so.
If Glencore is in this current state globally then they should be worried, and if so, they will looking to acquire those assets that will maintain their future dominance in the metal commodities market. From where I sit, Noront looks like it would fit nicely into that future.
IMHO,
TM.
