Did anyone watch the National news last night ...it had a 5 minute expose on the new road from Inuvik to Tuk???

It mentioned the problems of laying a road bed over muskeg.

It  had interviews with the local natives,of which where mostly in agreement with the building of the road and ALL  the future possibilities.

The young had a drum ceremony celebrating the coming of the road and the new chances of being part of the future! 

As there is 30% unemployment in Tuk,they are looking forward to more tourists and all that come with them (ie) retaraunts, hotels and other sundry services and Jobs.... they are even painting the weathered buildings 

They also realise that liquor and drugs will also be a factor but they believe that this is only natural and to be controlled.

This bit by CBC should be sent to the FN's in Northern Ontario to show them what benefits a road to civilization would bring them instead of arguing amongst themselves like children in a sand box
