Fossil, I think you are misinterpreting what Hoov said:
"When glaciers disperse gold" they disperse a surface portion, i.e. they scrape the surface and move a few kilometers in the direction that they moved. The original source is still there a few kilometers up from where the glacier moved it from.
The topic is not about the surface scrapings BUT about the 'Original' in ground veins which are in their original locations.
I say not so much contiguous but that all the veins have been formed by same or similar tectonic events and because of their proximity, most probably by same event.
Sooo I concur that it is very probable that veins exist along the path implied.
