Brown himself suggests he’ll be leaving the scandal-pounding mostly to the New Democrats, saying he’ll focus his party’s legislative energies on demonstrating that you aren’t better off now than you were four years ago, citing the impending hike to the minimum wage, hydro prices and the government’s slow movement on getting chromite mines opened in the Ring of Fire in the North. We’ll see whether that discipline persists.

The long warmup is over. The campaign to next June’s election day has begun. Amid it all, maybe, if we’re lucky, Ontario will be governed.
