Notice how in this particular illustration of the Mushkegowuk Corridor that many of the northern Matawan communities ( Webequie, Neskantaga , Eabametoong, and even Peawanuck ) all receive power from the proposed Mushkegowuk Power Co. project.  It would not take much to include Nibinamik in this proposed power grid, which means that together with Watay power Mushkegowuk could cover the power needs of the remaining remote communities that are currently using diesel generators for their electricity.  This would help divide the efforts of electrifying the north between two different companies, and act to be a more efficient way to get the job done faster; if you ask me.  Not only this, but with Mushkegowuk forming its own electrical company in conjunction with Quebec hydro this would act to further reduce the cost of supply to these remote areas, including the Ring of Fire, since Quebec Hydro's rates are much cheaper than Ontario.

 One could also argue the point that if a hydro company owned by a  First Nation supplies a mining company with a partnership with a First Nation could there be a further reduction to the cost of supplying power; ?.  That much I do not know.  Eitherway, this Eastern model provided by the Mushkegowuk is showing more and more promise, because so far Matawa has been dragging their heels up until now. In comparison Mushkegowuk's approach to the Ring of Fire and its benefits has always been the more rational between the two groups.  I am quite impressed that their Elders could see  that with time comes change, and change is necessary to improve their way of life, and offer new horizons to their youth who are desperate seeking a better future.

 Mushkegowuk will do a better job including Matawa in the Ring of Fire then Matawa has done amongst themselves.
