Message: Canadian Mines Create Indigenous Middle Class in Nunavut – Not in Ring of Fire

As I read about the Ring of Fire am being convinced that we on this forum are putting too much blame onto the Ontario Liberal government regarding delayed development. That the majority of blame rests with Mattawa "Nations'. I Also think that the companies of the Ring should be putting more emphasis in accomodating the nearest Nations to the Ring, meaning foremost Webequie and perhaps also Marten Falls.

Not that I am trying to 'white wash' the Liberals ( my apolitical? views are probably well known lol). Far from it, just want to to tell you all where imho the larger focus should be.

Finally from your posting Ringer, this deserves repeating utill we are blue in the face:

<And for First Nation leaders, who might be resisting mineral development, they should consider that 150 years of government support has done nothing for their impoverished communities and the lack of initiative during the first two years of a left-leaning pro-Aboriginal Trudeau administration is very troubling. But as the Inuit in Nunavut have learned, sustainable mineral development of their resources can be the foundation of an Indigenous middle-class that they so rightly deserve.>

Thanks again Ringer, Ed.
