Perhaps the lobbyist(s) worth their salt might have realized early on that their words were falling on  politician's deaf ears and thus changed their strategy/efforts  to focusing on educating the remainder of the Province as to the vital importance of mining to Ontario's and the country's economy (including the welfare of First Nations communities for whom mining is the largest private sector employer) and to  extolling the potential socioeconomic benefits of the ROF in particular.... In essence, riding the recent  positive wave/sentiment of Federal attempts to bridge the socioeconomic divide of the First Nations communities . Those enlightened  in the populace could effcetively become a force multiplier in terms of pressure/lobbying efforts. A key appointment to  Aboriginal affairs would be of paramount importance in such a strategy . That said , I defer to others on this forum (such as the Professor) who likely have a much keener sense of Ontario politics , as I was living outside of Canada for the better part of a decade until 2010.

Cheers,

Luker
