So, I don't follow the steel industry closely at all.
What does all of this mean? What are the relationships between the players, ie. Essar Steel Algoma vs. Essar Global.
If the union comes to a settlement with ES Algoma, what does that mean?
If the union doesn't come to a settlement with ES Algoma, what does that mean?
I think that there's some belief that at some point, ES Algoma may be bought out by someone. What is the potential tie-in to the Ring Of Fire? Obviously, any long-term potential for chromite and/or nickel to be added to the steel-making process has a potential impact, but are there direct tie-in's right now to the possibility of a consortium of companies trying to directly do something that could impact Noront?
How do other companies such as US Steel come into play?
How does this tie in with things like possible new port facilities, iron ore pellet suppliers, and transportation?
What role do/can Quebec companies (mining/production/transportation) have in this system?
There's no need to rush on answering this, but some day, I'd love seeing something that does a good summary of illustrating the big picture here for a possible made-in-Canada all-in-one solution for a stronger supply chain, encompassing current and future mines, refining, steel production, shipping, etc. I feel that something very big is happening here in the background, but I haven't been able to connect the dots yet. I know that Babjak has posted a lot of relevant articles, and I wish that I had a greater understanding of how all the pieces could fit together (not just with respect to my Noront shares, but more so out of curiousity about the benefits this can bring to Canada).
