Fine idea but Frank fails to mention why it is ideal for the Ring of Fire, because it is not.
He mentions that the monorail is better for regions that are earthquake benign, hence the RofF but in the same breath he says it is for moving people between densely populated areas, hence Montreal-Toronto is much better ( better still Chicago-Detroit-Toronto-Montreal, because Los Angeles-San Francisco being very earthquake prone).
I never considered that northern Ontario needed movement of large numbers of people. What it needs is not large numbers of people but of variuos types, meaning people, materials and Ores and above all, at cheap rates.
That is why monorail of what ever flavour is not suitable for the north at this time. Monorail may need N. Ontario but northern Ontarion does not need monorail.
Great project but this is just a pie in the sky idea that is misplaced for the north. Ed.
