I am not so knowing as opinionated. Of course I try to explain why I have a particular opinion so that new members of this forum can be better informed and able to judge for themselves.
Regarding chromite cooperation between NOT and KWG I think that the idea of KWG smelting Noront chromite ore is just wishfull thinking, or hype, by KWG owners. I happen to think that NOT has more ore than KWG and will have even more in years to come once it has cash flowing in and explores its vast claim hold.
Where cooperation between the two is fairly certain is: First, common ore access through Noront's Eagle mine shaft and tunnels, those being very close to KWG's ore.
Second, Noront is a shoe in to use KWG's rail line should it become available. Here it may turn out that Noront could even become a junior partner in exchange for reduction of transportation costs.
I suspect that the amounts of ore the two hold could support two mills without one using the other's ore. It may be more dependent on how much of a market they both can garner because from already known and suspected reserves they both could operate for decades. Of course there could be better efficiences if they could share a common mill and perhaps other infrastructures, such as Noront's camp facilities or KWG's gas process.
What ever happens, with both companies the results are dependent on both gaining transportation and power infrastructures before thay can go ahead with mine constructions.
There may be other points on which these two companies could work together on but it is just speculation at this time.
