No offence taken Edgy.

This site is a great vehcile for a diversity of views.

I still believe Northern Ontario could be a viable province.

Just look at PEI with about 135,000 people and I believe 4 MPs. Contrast that with my home town of Sudbury with 160,000 people and two MPs.

As a separate province whose economy is more dependent on resource development, the clout of the enviromental movement would be less.

In many ridings in southern Ontario, voters are largely unaware of the impact of resource development to their high standard of living, so they mindlessly listen to anti-development green propaganda!!

Try building a high rise condo in downtown Toronto without many of the materials we dig out of the ground in the north.

Hence, a separate province would allow the North to be "masters of our own house"!
