An important event for the further development of Northeastern Ontario is taking place in Kapuskasing on March 22nd, 2016.
Over 40 municipal and First Nation economic development teams are joining minds, ideas, and vision to discuss opportunity for the region.
The Aboriginal Economic Development Forum will bring regional movers, shakers and decision makers from the public and private sector to one place to talk about Northeastern Ontario; its strengths and opportunities.
“The regional communities—First Nation and municipal—need jobs, meaningful employment, and long-term careers. To make job creation a reality, all communities must diversify their economic landscape, expand markets, and include neighbouring communities as part of their economic strategy. The Aboriginal Economic Development Forum event is a place for that discussion”, said Terrence Sutherland, Aboriginal Liaison Coordinator
New business and new industry for the region is the goal. According to Industry Canada, small businesses are growing and are leading the way in job creation. Northeastern Ontario needs small business and this event will help find solutions to answer that ongoing need.
There is a registration fee: Early Bird rate of $35 per participant; after March 1, $50 per participant. This event is made possible by vital support from Matawa First Nations Management and the Moose Cree First Nation Economic Development.
