Ed you make a good point about this being a problem not really relating to the FN. I post it to demanstrate yet another hoop Trudeau needs to try to jump thru to get FN on board with a pan-Canadian resourse sharing agreement. Making the leaders of the FN 'happy' will result in downwards pressure to give something back to Canada who are paying for all these recent 'perks'.

In reality the cry from FN would really be about them getting all season roads which strongly relates to this forum. I expect this is their end game as all they could really do to help climate change is reduce their use of generators for power.

The pressure is on Trudeau and the ball is in his court. Funds need to be announced for the ROF road to service tha Matawa. Threats are already being made to 'take back' his headdress and this would not make such a good photo op.
