Bob Rae, a member of the law firm Olthuis Kleer Townshend LLP and former Ontario Premier and federal Liberal interim leader, is the chief negotiator for the Matawa First Nations. On their behalf, Mr. Rae is tasked with reaching an agreement with the Ontario government to develop the Ring of Fire mining area. Mr. Rae discusses the “community-driven” negotiation process and issues related to reaching a final agreement.
