My current thoughts, based on published news reports and postings placed in the Noront forum.
I refer back to the Ring of Fire Golf day presentation by Ellis Kirkland , A presentation on “this is an Infrastructure needs requirement to fulfill quality of Life, not just a mining project….. market it, this way.
I prefer not to forget this …………it’s a powerful message ….it makes pure sense. All players and decision makes should remember this and get on with it .
Note: we are helping families (25,000) soon to join a better life ….. Let’s help our citizens / Canadian families today, to get a better life….

Selfies, boiling water, $24. For milk ? , 5000 jobs, Chiefs are reacting, I am growing weary, has incurred $13.2 million, no performance measures

AFN chief Bellegarde may be getting too big for his headdress. He was upfront and centre for the throne speech, sitting with Trudeau on the plane to Paris, taking selfies with Obama (Trudeau clicked the shutter) and now meeting with Trudeau on Tues in Gatineau at the AFN meeting.
Trudeau seems like the last domino needed to jumpstart ROF infrastrucure and mining in northern Ontario in general. Trudeau has courted FN effectively but I hope Bellegarde does not swell his head so much that Trudeau puts him back in his place.

Investment for jobs: The Tories have also promised to repeal the Far North Act, saying it would open up the north to more investment opportunities and jobs.
"You see in my plan what the northern leaders have asked for: repeal of a Far North Act to encourage economic development, a real plan for the Ring of Fire, affordable hydro so we can actually boom instead of shrink when it comes to our forestry and mining," Hudak said.
Horwath said her party is willing to spend in an effort to develop the north and create those 5,500 jobs.
#3 ….CBC News has obtained letters from several First Nations in the Ring of Fire detailing a breakdown in the relationship with Ontario that could threaten the already fragile mining project.
Chiefs are reacting to the Aug. 28 announcement that the new Ring of Fire Infrastructure Development Corporation was established with an interim board, made up of four senior Ontario civil servants, and no First Nations representatives
#4........ My understanding (from Mr Gravelles Office) is a few items NEEDED TO BE SETTLED ....1. Dev Corp needed a CEO, 2. DELOITTE was hired to do something 3. a plan to be tabled to explain how to move the ROF forward (related to the money they have committed) is soon to be tabled.
Northern Development and Mines Minister Michael Gravelle says industry pressure was one factor in moving ahead with the Ring of Fire Development Corporation without the input of First Nations. (Jody Porter/CBC)
#5…"I am growing weary of your lack of attention to EFN's [Eabametoong First Nation's] concerns and our clearly stated request to work collaboratively," wrote Chief Elizabeth Atlookan in an Aug. 29 letter to Northern Development and Mines Minister Michael Gravelle.

#7….But $24. for milk / the isolation for those in the ROF region hits home to me..... how's your coffee this AM , is a message I have shared with Mr Gravelle?
#8…The Ministry of Northern Development and Mines has been ineffective in getting the Ring of Fire developed and shows no plans to do so the province's Auditor General says.
In her annual report, presented Wednesday, Bonnie Lysyk said the province lacks timelines or plans for the estimated $60 billion development, the Ring of Fire secretariat has missed deadlines and had no performance measures in place.
The secretariat has 19 full-time staff and has incurred $13.2 million in operating costs so far since it opened in 2010. It's spent another $15.8 million for capacity building for First Nations.
"However, there are no performance measures to gauge and report on the effectiveness of the activities it has undertaken to facilitate development in the region," the report says.
