Stein, you live in Toronto so are probably used to having roads, subways, sewers and other types of infrastructures provided by all three levels of government as a priority, but in smaller municipalities we are mostly dependent on City Hall. Small communities and those up north probably have even more only themselves to depend on. Native ones being a bit of an exception.

Having stated above, my question is why do we the tax payers have to provide for the native communities above what the Feds do already?

Per your example, it should not have happened. The Recyclers were black mailed.
The services I get are from my property taxes etc. and not much else. If they want to live in the woods then that is their choice, but it does not mean that I have to provide services to them that I have in a city or town.

It is the double standard that am opposed to.
