thank you for posting this. I too wanted to add my two cents......

For a long time I have always wondered, why is it the Natives' can leverage "anything & everything" to get what they want. It is an old story that I don't think has an ending.......

I hate to be so pessimistic, but geez.....I just don't get it.

As Canadians we all pay taxes to support the system. Health care, roads, schools etc...... As tax payers, we don't have a choice to be selective on our water treatment plants? Public Schools? Health Care? Unless we pay more for Private Schools/Private Health Care/ water treatment within our own home. On top of all this very few of us walk away from post secondary school for ourselves or our children without a large loan to pay. By the time I finished school I was $80k in the hole! I didn't receive any grants or special treatment from the Gov't......I had to pull up my socks and get to work.......What a concept!

I work with many construction companies in and around the GTA. Earlier this year I met a labourer on a job site that was native, he was from Northern Ontario. He did mention where he was from, but it slipped my mind. He left his reserve for a better life. He stated he wanted to work, and there simply wasn't any work for him.....

So he left. He came to Toronto, with the will to work......and he did. He was also attending Gerorge Brown College, so he could further his career in the industry.

Point I am trying to make is.......They can/could have a better life.....Why wouldn't they want this........

Our gov't needs to man up and do what is needed for all Canadians!
