Fahrenheit, you are right Ontario nominated 2 projects under the National infrastructure Plan.
It is up to the feds to determine if either project gives Canada a big bang for the buck.
Some info on the NIC..

I'm considering the following info.:
I'll start with the Scarborough ext.
Please read this link:
http://www.railforthevalley.com/latest-news/zweisystem/the-broadway-subway-no-value-for-money/
The link was not a good promo for the Scarborough subway extension.
then this link:

The federal government is rejecting calls to classify a proposed subway extension in Toronto’s east end as a national infrastructure project, a decision that Ontario says will squeeze out other important spending on the province’s wish list.
Then you have the only other project listed in the National component...the ROF.
-Rickord stated it's a priority project for him.

-Clement calls it a rival to the oil sands.
-The feds have a tab on their website for the Ring of Fire.
-The feds had put money into the fed budget for training aboriginals for the rof.
-The feds split the cost with the province in march of this year ($785K each) for a study on the East west road.
-the feds extended a 25% tax credit to exploration in the rof.
-Ontario Chambe of Commerce did a detailed study as to the economic benefit of the ROF.
By the way Harper was at the Ontario Chamber of Commerce the other day...
Fahrenheight...I can go on and on..
My bet is the feds saying Yes to the ROF and NO to Scarborough Subway Ext.
