The people up there are in a situation close to that of a dictatorship. Their numbers are relatively small. They have little input to the voices you are hearing. And they are incultated to believe what they are told by some of their leaders, or go along to receive band support. The whole structure needs to be dismantled and democratized. This is almost impossible to do because of the course of history. So, we plod along with the churning of courts, and we make allowances as a government towards them....all of this you and everyone knows. At the moment there is no answer that represents us as the country we are. We have long gone down the wrong road.We need total restructuring by the court system. We need educated natives who work towards this end for their people. In the meantime, we struggle with as it is, and should try to stay in compassion and understanding for a very complex and difficult problem.
