You have something there:

Neskatanga (Lansdowne House) is some 130 Km straight line from Ring and not on any transportation path.

Eabametoong (Fort Hope, 180 Km in straight line) would be close to KWG alternate road route which goes from Pickle Lake.

Looks like sour grapes on their part, and notice how Webequie is keeping quiet, and How Quiet.
