Message: Babjak is "Information Goddess"!!!

I really enjoy Babjak's postings and understand the in-depth research that goes into them.

And I agree with her assessment that Glencore - who is the largest private sector integrated ferrochrome producer in the world - is one of the logical companies that may pick up Cliffs' Ring of Fire properties. (Outukumpu from Finland might be another contender?)

Since all of Glencore's chromite mines and furnaces are in politically unstable South Aftrica, having a source of this strategic metal in stable Ontario - relatively speaking - would make good business sense.

Commodity super-cycle is still here - and will kick back in once we get through this slump - global populations continue to increase and lesser developed countries continue to urbanize and industrialize.

Take heart folks, the world will need more chromite!!

However, Glencore CEO is a very astute business person. So I don't agree with Babjak that he might consider taking over Cliffs outright.

Cliffs' iron ore mines are all high cost - especially compared to Vale, Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton.

And Glencore CEO recently gave iron ore miners hell for building too much capacity and he was glad his company had little or no exposure to the mineral. (Can't recall if Glencore has any iron ore mines!)

As always, really enjoy this site and always look foreward to Babjak postings.
