"Only 2,335 voters — or 0.05 per cent of the total turnout — formally declined their ballots in 2011"
I have administered many times during provincial and federal elections, and to do that the personnel go through training and updating. Only once during that process have I been told about declined votes.
Nor have I experienced such an occasion as the above numerical quote demonstrates.
Imho that number could easily be 10x that.
Why?
Because the electorate is unaware of the process and just do not go to the polls.
Has anyone here ever seen voting results where declined votes are also shown. I have not.
So much for our citizen's obligations. I will be glad when this is over and we can return to normalcy = under radar and at turtle's pace forward. Lol.
