Jean: Love those timeline questions. Thanks for the opportunity your question affords me. Thumbnail background of Ontario political scene: Ontario has been majority governed by centre-left Liberals (McGinty as leader-9 years; Wynne for the past 2 yrs as a minority government, supported by leftist NDP party) The two year support of the Liberal party by the NDP will very likely come to an end on A scheduled Ontario budget to be tabled May1/14. After a few (2-3) days of election posturing legislature "debate" ROF support by all parties. Note : all parties: (1-2 months ago) ;PC (in numerous dates in speeches; a white paper; EW route, railroad later). have endorsed ROF infrastructure investment and the Liberals in 7+ years of empty promises, no action, until today's conditional (fed govt matching funding announcement). Because of the sorry Liberal economic and fraud- laden performance of the past decade, it is highly likely the Liberal budget will be defeated, which will automatically trigger ann election apprx 35 days after the "writ" is dropped. This I calculate as a date between June 2 to 9. With the defeat of the budget all the funding promises within the Liberal budget dissappear, but will be repeated/ further embellished by all parties in the following election. Hence infrastructure risk diminution depends on who wins the election and the startup infrastructure-build date, key to not's FS published timeline. The Liberal details (Deloitte report) of today's infrastructure announcement ( EW vs NS road/railway etc), long promised, not yet delivered. The PC party detail of its infrastructure commitment are in the NOT already released EA and FS reports long ago released and endorsed by ( eg) today's PC endorsement. In the forthcoming ON provincial election (as I have posted often in the past), A number of federal ministers will endorse the Ontario PC's ROF - NOT EW plan plus $1B+, plus an indication of the amount of mining co/private sector contributions, supported by the NOT financing confirmation indications. This bring the total amount to apprx. $2.7 B figure often discussed. Summary : infrastructure confirmation announcement mid July-mid august formal announcement by election winner party using NOT's detailed plans. Of course, IMO. I expect lotsa left of centre supporters here to attack, you know who you are. Time to house clean and get something done correctly in Ontario. Peter
