Luker, Thanks for the article. My concern with Ms. Peterson,s seeming desire for the development of a Joint Review Pannel is twofold. The first of my concerns is the fact that she is a consultant and a member of Environment North. She therefore likely has a financial interest in going another step past the current Comprehensive EA study. My second concern, and I know this first hand, is that when the goverment (Ministry of the Environment) gets more involved the process will be like reinventing the wheel. The socio economic, public concerns, impacts, guidelines etc etc have all been discussed and beaten to death before in many other mining projects. She even refers to the Joint Review done by or for Stillwater Canada Inc's, Marathon platinum and copper mine. Just plug in the differences and go on from there. Its all about the beaurocrats and consultants keeping their jobs that tends to prolong all these processes no matter what it is. There is more "valuable money"(check Cupcakes Post) spent on this consulting, in many cases, than ends up being spent in the end on the hard assets. To be sure, I am not anti environment but for Gods sake lets move the process along. Enough already. the deputy
